Our way of making books
La elaboración de la política editorial y la selección de proyectos de publicaciones corresponde a la Dirección y al Área de Edición. Esta última específicamente realiza labores de edición de proyectos, edición de contenidos y corrección de pruebas, de acuerdo con la línea editorial de Pehuén.
La edición de proyectos corresponde a la elección y gestión de iniciativas para nuevos libros, de acuerdo con las políticas de selección editorial y los criterios de evaluación editorial de Pehuén; la recepción y selección de originales de autor; la coordinación de las labores de edición de contenidos y corrección de pruebas, y el manejo de las relaciones con los autores y colaboradores de cada proyecto.
La edición de contenidos es la aplicación de técnicas de edición literaria y edición gráfica, con sus respectivos tópicos.
La corrección de pruebas corresponde a la revisión gráfica, ortográfica y de redacción de la prueba del diseño y diagramación final. Su objetivo es certificar una versión final del libro, antes de ser enviado a prensa.
Pehuén Editores publica libros a partir de iniciativas propias o externas.
The making of the editorial politic and the selection of projects of publications concerns to the Dirección y Área de Edición (Management and Edition Area). This area executes the project’s edition shores, the content’s edition and the test’s correction, according with the editorial line of Pehuén.
The project’s edition has to do with the election and management of initiatives for new books, according with the politics of editorial selection and the criteria of editorial evaluation of Pehuén; the reception and selection of originals of the author; the coordination of duties of the content’s edition and the correction of tests, and also the manage of the relationships with authors and contributors of each project.
The content’s edition is the application of techniques of literary edition and graphic edition, with the corresponding topics.
The test’s correction is the graphic, orthographic and spelling revision of the test of the design and final diagramming.
Pehuén Editores publishes books from its own and external initiatives.
Procedimiento para nuevos proyectos editoriales
Proceed for new editorial projects
Los proyectos para la edición de nuevos libros deben cumplir con las siguientes especificaciones:
1. El proyecto, la idea original y/o el texto original emanados de los autores, herederos, agentes literarios o instituciones deben tener coherencia con la línea editorial y las políticas de selección editorial de Pehuén. De no coincidir, Pehuén no asume la obligación de responder mediante un informe de evaluación editorial.
2. El proyecto debe incluir: (a) formulario propuesta en el que se expongan el título tentativo de la obra, la identificación de los autores y otros antecedentes [ver Formulario para proyectos editoriales] y (b) una copia del original, si existe uno, el cual NO SERÁ DEVUELTO; por ello recomendamos no enviar maquetas, sino textos impresos.
El formulario se enviará adjunto por mail a editorial@pehuen.cl
3. En caso de que el proyecto sea aprobado o rechazado, se informará a los responsables mediante un Informe de evaluación editorial, que precederá a la oferta de un contrato de edición y el contacto con un editor, dando inicio al proceso de edición.
The projects for the edition of new books have to obey the following specifications:
The project, the original idea and the original texts coming from the authors, heirs, literary agents or institutions must have coherence with the editorial line and the politics of editorial selection of Pehuén. If not, Pehuén assumes the obligation of respond with a report of editorial evaluation.
The project must include: (a) form offer which represent the attempted title of the exemplar, the identification of the authors and other antecedents [see Form to editorial projects] and (b) a copy of the original, if there is one, which WON’T BE RETURNED; that is why we recommend not sending models but printed texts.
The form will be send by e-mail to edicion@pehuen.cl
In case the project is approved or rejected, it will be informed to the persons in charge through an Inform of editorial evaluation, which will precede to the offer of a contract of edition and the contact with an editor, beginning the editing process.
